27th March, 1936.

The Right Honourable W. Mackenzie King, M.P. Laurier House, Ottawa

Thank you very much for your letter and for the book. I am very glad to have it, for I left my copy at home. I need not say I agree with every word of your excellent address on "Recognition". I am glad this confounded question of Honours is buried. It was no desire of mine to raise it, and it shall never again be mentioned by me.

A gift for a gift. Here is a small addition to your library, which I hope may interest you. One of two Members of Parliament wished to have a very small edition printed of the proceedings in Westminster Hall at the Silver Jubilee, and as I had a considerable share in the speeches they sent me a copy. Will you add it to the library you must be building up at Kingsmere.
