I got your letter last night on my way here from Annapolis. I have just sent the little man a wire to Quebec. It is hard to part with him. I wired to Eric to ask if we could have Morrison-Bell & his daughter for a couple of days on the 5th. I could hardly refuse, for he was on Grey's staff here. Eddie Shackleton wants to stay the night of the 14th when he is lecturing

My health is, if anything, rather better, though I have still a good deal of discomfort. The visit to Annapolis Royal yesterday was great fun. It was perfect weather, and we had a wonderful flight from Charlottestown. Annapolis is an exquisite little place, full of 18th century houses, in a valley of orchards. The ceremony of inducting me as Grand Master of Champlain's Order was very well done, especially

the part played by the Mic-Mac Indians, when I lit the pipe of peace. Since then we have had a very bumpy journey to Sydney. It is a big industrial city, in a countryside like Scotland. Among other addresses I have to receive one in Gaelic!
You really must visit P. E. Island. It is a society like Cranford, one big village community of kind simple folk.
