I respectfully beg leave in the event of
a Vacancy in the Public Works Department for
Queensland to offer my services for employment
and to state from my long experience I have had
in this Colony under the Governments of Sir. R. Bourke,
Sir George Gipps & Sir Charles Fitzroy and the
numerous public Works and Buildings I have
planned and executed it will be a sufficient
guarantee as to ability. I have therefore to request
you will have the goodness to submit this my
application to His Excellency The Governor General
and should His Excellency be pleased to take
the same into favourable consideration and
confer an Appointment upon me I trust
to give the fullest satisfaction and as I
am not afraid of Work, or coping with
difficulties
