My dear Sir -

The enclosures refer to an
application made by Mr. R. Crummer
for employment in the Queensland
Survey Department. Mr. Xcott is, as
you are doubtless aware, an old and
esteemed Colonist, and is at present
one of the members for the House
in the New South Wales Legislature.

His recommendation is worthy of
very respectful consideration, and I
trust that, if Mr. Crummers qualifications
are found to be of a nature calculated
to advance the public service,
