Summary: Jane Cross, is widow of George Cross, a Private in Company I 16th Regiment USCT, and a resident of Montgomery, Tennessee. The Adjutant General reports him enrolled 1 March 1864 and died in Hospital at Chattanooga, Tennessee on 20 January 1866 of Dropsy. The Surgeon General reports his death 21 January 1866 at the Post Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee of Dropsy. Captain William H. Clark certifies he died at Chattanooga on 20 January 1866 of Dropsy contracted while in the line of duty. Marriage of Jane Williamson to George Cross on 25 December 1855. The following children are stated above with birth dates. Document states the increase was waived. Document admitted 1 February 1867 with a pension of $8 per month commencing 21 January 1866.

Summary: Jane Cross, aged 32 years old, of Montgomery, Tennessee, states she is the widow of George Cross a Private in Company I 16th Regiment USCT who died in Chattanooga, Tennessee on 20 January 1866 of Dropsy. There is no record of their marriage. She married in the home of Thomas Williamson in Montgomery, Tennessee on 25 December 1855 with the maiden name of Williamson. The fruit of their marriage are the following, Lucy C. (1858) Mary Ellen (1860) Virginia H. (1862) George L. (1864). Witnesses names Esau Mitchell and Parthenia Mitchell are linked together with an & sign which might indicate a possible relationship.
