Summary: Mary Hodges of Massac County, Illinois, is the widow of Caesar, who enrolled on 12 December 1864 and mustered in as a Sergeant. He died at Camp Nelson, Kentucky on 3 July 1865. The Surgeon General's report stated he died of Chronic Diarrhea. Mary and Caesar were married 8 January 1851 as shown by the affidavits of the officiating minister and two eye witnesses. There are no children. Document admitted 28 July 1868, with a pension of $8 per month commencing 4 July 1865.

Summary: Mary Hodges, aged 34 years old, states her husband mustered in at Pine Bluff, Kentucky on 15 October 1864 and died at Camp Nelson, Kentucky on 3 July 1865 of disease. Mary and Caesar were married on 8 January 1851 in Pine Bluff, Kentucky by Peter Hodges, a minister of the Gospel and her maiden name was Laseter. There is no public or private record of her marriage. No child or children. Witnesses Peter Hodges and Richard Laseter state they are personally acquainted with Mary and Caesar and they witnessed their marriage. Peter and Richard also signed with their mark.
