Summary: Louis’ widow, Minerva (Softley) Browner, was a resident of Adair County, Kentucky. Louis and Minerva had no children. Louis was also known as “Lewis Browner.” Served in the 125th USCI, Co. K. Died of SmallPox on April 1st, 1866 at Cairo Illinois. Previously enslaved by John Browner per CSMR. Affidavit of A. R. Barbee and Creed Softly on page 8. Affidavit of Thomas C. Winfrey and A. P.
