Summary: 11081 Boney Wilson Pension File Boney Wilson, whose real name was Berry, was a Private in Company B of the 5th Regiment USCT Cavalry. Widow Sarah Holman Wilson was a resident of Mercer County, Kentucky. Boney enrolled 18 August 1864 and died 11 November 1864 at the General hospital at Camp Nelson, Kentucky of measles. Officiating minister claimed Boney and Sarah were married 16 February 1861, but Sarah stated they were married 1 April 1862. No children are listed in this pension claim. Pension $8 per month commencing 12 November 1864. Four years after the death of Boney, Sarah remarried Thomas Shields. At that time of her remarriage, her pension was dropped. After Thomas’ death in 1881, she refiled to receive her pension for Boney.

Summary: Sarah Wilson, aged 24 years old, states Boney Wilson was a Sergeant in company B commanded by Captain Charles T Greer in the 5th Regiment commanded by Lt. Col. Carpenter. Boney died at Camp Nelson, Kentucky on 11 November 1864 from measles. Sarah states she married Boney Wilson 1 April 1862 and has remained a widow since his death. She also states there are no children living that are of the soldier.
