for their fish, which is at present
is not the case as it is subject to changes
annually. I think perhaps is yourself,
Dan – and some of your millionaire
Anglers might “chip in” and have for
all time to come the best salmon angling
in the world. My title is now complete,
having Patents from the Crown covering almost
7 miles of the best angling on the Restigouche
including 1330 acres of land with House
[?] of this honor more anon.

How is our Mutual friend
“Monte” I mean the Handsome Young American
that captivated Lady MacDonald and
Mr. Brooks with his “seances” and the [Pechockie?]
dinner gotten up by him on the 4th July [back?].
He made deep impression in Lady Mac's
bosom (if she had any uprising there) I can
assure you as she has no [descant?] as curious sense
made pleasing mention of his name, and
certainly not profiting to mention at the same

"au revoir" now. But I should like much

tarpon fishing etc.

Yours Respectfully

Dear Mr Moore
Father has left for the
Restigouche and will be absent
for about six weeks. I will
also be away from home for
a week. In regard to the
[?] to Senators [Boldius?]
[Aishect?] where fish have been
applied for use your own
judgement in the matter
as regards taking them there.
Yours truly

Dear Sir
The time to make application
for speckled trout is in the beginning
of the New Year. Say Janry or Febry.
The supply we had has all been
distributed and it is now quite
impossible for you to get any til
next season. If you want any
then I would advise you to apply
early as the demand is very great
for trout fry.
Yours respectfully
[C.? Wilmot?]

The fragment of the letter on the Verso continues from previous pages and is important for the evidence it provides that Samuel Wilmot was an avid angler, having secured property on one of the most important Atlantic salmon rivers in the eastern Canada, the Restigouche.
