to May, in Ontario, why should
it not apply Equally in Quebec
the habits of the fish are [practically?]
the same.

(2) In looking at the table
of “Close Seasons” again, it will
be found there are no “close seasons”
for Spec-Trout in New Brunswick,
or Nova Scotia [?] Surely
this must be an oversight, in
the absence of a “close time” in those
Provinces must have been brought
about by the work of interested parties
or [peculiar?] as [?]
[?] No wonder at hearing
the many Expressions of wonder,
why streams, and lakes, once
teeming with these fish, should
now be wholly [destitute?] of them?
Again May last, if it be wise
to adopt “close seasons” in Ontario
to protect Trout at the spawning time, -
why should [it?] not be more […]

which it so deservedly demands.
