Ordinances of the City of Greenville.

with the written direction of the said Board of Fire Mas-
ters, as therein required, such occupant or owner shall
be subject to a fine, at the discretion of the Mayor, not
exceeding fifty dollars, or to imprisonment not exceeding
thirty days, for each and every week said directions shall
remain uncompiled with, and shall further be liable for
the expense incurred by the City of Greenville, should
the work be done by the City, to be recovered in any
Court of competent jusisdiction.

SEC. 5. The Board of Fire Masters shall have power to
make such rules and appoint such committees for the
convenience of their own government and for the trans-
action of business as to them shall seem expedient.

Done and ratified, in Council assembled, under the Cor-
porate Seal of the City of Greenville, this eighth
day of April, in the year our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-four.

AN ORDINANCE TO PUNISH MALICIOUS INJURY TO PRI-
VATE PROPERTY.

Be it ordained by the Mayor and Alderman of the City of
Greenville, in Council assembled, and by the authority
of the same, That from and after the passage of this
Ordinance, it shall not be lawful for any person or per-
sons to pull or knock off any pailings or gates from the
fences, or in any other manner interfere with and inure
the fencing or buildings of any citizen of this city; and
every person or persons convicted of any of the offences
aforesaid, shall be fined not less than ten nor more than
twenty dollars, or be imprisoned not less than three nor
more than twenty days.

Done and ratified, in Council assembled, the sixth day
of September, in the year of our Lord one thousand
