in the City of Greenville to let our sub-let any dwelling
house or other nuilding to any person or persons to be
used, or with the knowledge that the same is intended to
be used and kept, as a disorderly house, a bawdy house
or house of ill fame.

SEC. 3. Any person or persons violating any of the pro-
visions of this ordinance, upon conviction shall be fined
in the sum not less than twenty-five nor more than fifty
dollars or imprisoned not less than five nor more than
thirty days.

SEC. 4. All ordinances and parts of ordinances inconsis-
tent with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby re-
pealed.

Done and ratified under the Corporate Seal of the City of
Greenville, this seventh day of May, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-

AN ORDINANCE TO INSURE THE BETTER POLICEING OF
THE CITY OF GREENVILLE AND TO PROTECT THE PUBLIC
HEALTH.

SECTION 1.Be it ordained by the Mayor and Aldermen of
the City of Greenville, in Council assembled, and by the
authority of the same, That from and after the ratifi-
cation of this ordinance it shall be the duty of heads of
families or other persons living on or occupying lots in
the City of Greenville, forthwith to remove from their
premises on which they live or occupy, all filth, dirt or
rubbish likely to cause sickness, and immediately to put
and keep their yards, drains, cellars, vaults, privies,
stable lots and other appurtenances in good, healthy
and clean order.

SEC. 2. That all persons owning or having in charge any
unoccupied real property in the City of Greenville shall
forthwith remove therefrom all filth, dirt or rubbish
