Our GENEROUS benefactors purchased the property and erected our well-planned building. The leader in this enterprise was the late Thomas F. Parker, long prominent in the civic and social life of Greenville. The plant, including ground, buildings and furnishings cost approximately $70,000, It was turned over to a board of trustees with a $20,000 mortgage. During the nineteen years of operation this mortgage has been steadily reduced and now amounts to $2,000 ($2,140 was raised to reduce the debt during the past twelve months). Operating costs are approximately $6,000 a year. Half of this ($3,000) comes from the Community Chest. Membership and contributions provide the remainder.
