Any citizen of Greenville may become a regular member of the Association on the reccomendation of the Membership Committee, subject to the approval of the Board. The Membership Committee shall furnish the Board with the applicant's full name and address and recommendation for admission signed by members of the Committee. Regular members shall be entitled during such membership to cast one vote for the election of Trustees and upon any and all questions voted uponn by the members of the Association. Any citizen of Greenville may become an associate memeber on the recommendation of the Membership Committee, signed by the members of the Membership Committee, who shall present to the Board of Trustees the applicant's full name and address. Associate members shall pay $1.00 per annum Membership Fee and are not entitled to vote for Trustees or upon other matters requiring for their authorization the cote of the regular members of the Association.

The Board of Trustees for cause may expel any member.

ARTICLE VI---Management The management of the Association shall be under the direction of the nine trustees, elected by the regular members of the Association, and shall consist of three white men, two white women, two Negro men and two Negro women.

Vacancies on the Board of Trustees occurring subsequent to the annual meeting shall be filled as soon as practicable by election by the remaining trustees. The trustees so elected shall act until the next annual meeting of the Association.

The Trustees shall meet for organizaton annually immediately after the annual meeting of the Association, and shall appoint all standing committees.

Trustees elected at the annual meeting shall serve for one year or until their successors are elected and qualified.

The Board of Trustees shall be vested with full power to recieve, hole and dispose of all the property, real and personal, of the Association.

ARTICLE VII--Election by Ballot

ballot. A majority of a quorum present shall be neccessary to a choice.

ARTICLE VIII---Officers

The offficers of the Association shall be a President, First Vice President, Second Vice President, Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer, elected by the Board after the meeting which adopts this Constitution, and thereafter annually buy the Trustees from the members of the Board. The President shall preside at all meetings of the Association and Board and shall perform all duties usually pertaining to the office.

The Vice President shall in the absence or inability of the President perform all the duties of the President.

The Treasurer shall receive and have charge of all funds and pay out the same on warrants signed by himself or herself and countersigned by the President and the Treasurer. The President and Secretary shall have such other poers as the Board shall delegate to each of these offices. The accounts of the Treasurer shall be audited once a year or oftener as the Trustees may direct, and he or she shall present a written report at each monthly meeting of the Board.

ARTICLE IX---Superinterndent

The General Superintendent shall be elected by the Board of Trustees, for such time and rate of remuneration as they may fix, and holds her office only at the Board's pleasure. The Superintendent, under the supervision of the President. She shall be held responsible for the proper management of the affairs of the Association entrusted to her, and for the preservation and care of its property, and for the discipline and efficiency of the service; she shall perform all other duties which the President may direct to promote the general purposes of the Association. The Superintendent shall obtain the approval of the President before publishing any reading matter.

ARTICLEX---Secretary

The Secretary shall be appointed by the President, and shall record and preserve the minutes of all meetings of the Board, and of meetings of the Association, keep

a register of membership, call the roll, preserve on file all reports, prepare an annual report and notify all chairmen of their election, conduct the corrrespondence, file and preserve all important letters received, keep copies of all official letters sent and the names and addresses of all standing committees and of all members, and shall give notice of all meetings of the Association and Board of Trustees.

ARTICLE XI---Meetings of the Board

The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees shall be held the second Tuesday in each month and five Trustees shall constitute a quorum. Special meetings of the Board shall be called by the Secretary, when so directed by the President, or in case of the President's inability to act, by a Vice President, but no business shall be transacted by special meetings, except such as is stated in the call.

ARTICLE XII---Committees

There shall be fice standing committees of five members each, as follows: Membership, House, Social, Educational, Financial, which committees shall be appointed by the Board of Trustees from regular and associate members at the discretion of the Board.

ARTICLE XIII---Amendment of the Constitution

This Constitution may be amended at any regular meeting of the Association by a two-thirds vote of a quorum present, provided such specific notice of the proposed amendment shall have been mailed to each member of the Association at least one week prior to such meeting.
