THE STATE OF ALABAMA, Shelby COUNTY. IN CIRCUIT COURT Fall TERM 1857

The Grand Jury of said County charge that before the finding of this Indictment Elizabeth Carden sold to or bought or received from a slave named Charley the property of Horace Mear certain articles of Castings without the consent of the master owner or overseer of such slave verbally or in writing expressing the articles permitted to be sold to or bought or recieved from such slave first obtained
