The State of Alabama Shelby County Be it remembered that on 2nd day of May A.D.1838 - -- Personally Came before me Archibald Sloan Sheriff of Said County. Lewis Burnett and Green Rasbury and acknowledged themselves to owe and be indebted to Arthur P Bagby Governor of the State of Alabama for the time being and his Successors in office Each in the sum of one thousand dollars . to be levied of their respective goods and chatles lands and tenaments and to be void upon Condition that Cinda alias Loucinda a negro slave the property of Lewis Burnett charged of an assault with intent to Kill and murder one Hulda Gentry a White person appear personally at our next Circuit Court to be holden for said County on the third Monday after the third Monday in September next - said Court to be holden at the Court house thereof - then and there to answer the Charge aforesaid and Continue from day to day and from Term to term and untill discharged by due Course of Law.
