The State of Alabama Shelby County In Circuit Court At March Term 1852 The Grand Jurors for the State of Alabama empannelled, sworn and charged to inquire for the County of Shelby on their oath present that John Daughton late of said County on the first day of March A.D.1852 in the County aforesaid did sell to a slave the property of John Walton spirituous liquor to wit whiskey the said spirituous liquor to wit whiskey not being for the owner overseer or agent and not being so expressed to be in a written permission specifying the quantity previously given to said slave, contrary to the statute in such case made and provided and against the peace and dignity of the State of Alabama Wm Mudd solicitor for 3rd Circt of Alabama
