CAPIS - "State Guard" Print. The State of Alabama: To any Sheriff of the State of Alabama--- GREETING: You are hereby commanded, without delay, ot take Benjamin F Dumas if found to be in your county, and him safely keep, so that you have his body before the Honorable the Judge of the Circuit Court, at a court to be holden for the county of Shelby on the second Monday in September next then and there to answer the State of Alabama, on a bill of indicment pendign in said court against him for trading with John a slave the property of Abraham R Gooch without lawfull leave and have you then and there this writ, with your endorsement thereon.

Witness, Wilie H Pope Clerk of said Court, at office, this 13th day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty one and of American Independence the 75th year.
