The State of Alabama, Shelby County}

TO ANY SHERIFF OF THE STATE OF ALABAMA: Greeting You are hereby commanded to take the body of Joseph B Dye if to be found in your county and him safely keep so that you have him before tha Judge of our next Circuit Court, at a Court to be holden for Shelby county at the place of hold ing the same, on the ninth Monday after the 2nd Monday in September next to answer the State of Alabama of a charge of Trading with a Slave as stands charged by teh Grand Jury for said county of Shelby. Herein fail not, And have you then adn there this Writ, Witness Wilie H Pope. Clerk of said Circuit Court, at office this 20th day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty three and the 77th year of American Independence
