State of Alabama } Circuit Court Spring Shelby County } Term 1859 The grand jury of said Count sharge that before the finding of this indictment of Amos M Finley did sell give or deliver to a slavenamed Marion belonging to James A Simpsonvinous or spirituous liquor without an order in writing signed by the overseer or master of such slave specifying the quantityto be sold given or delivered against the peace and dignity of the State of Alabama J.W. Miren Sol pro tem for the 3rd judicial circuit

THE STATE OF ALABAMA, } SHELBY COUNTY. } TO ANY SHERIFF OF THE STATE OF ALABAMA. An indictment having been found at the March Term, 1859 of the Circuit Court of Shelby County against James M Finley for the offence of giving liquor to a slave

you are therefore commanded forthwith, to arrest the said defendant and commit him to Jail, unless he give bail to answer such indictment; and that you return this write according to law. Attest: Wilie H Pope Clerk of the Circuit Court of Shelby County. Dated this 28th day of March 1859.
