The handwriting here is admittedly poor, but I believe that this person is the Honorable Daniel Moreau Barringer, lawyer, congressman and, at one time, ambassador to Spain. Once he and his wife settled in Raleigh, NC, both became Episcopalians and joined Christ Episcopal Church in Raleigh, NC. He was a delegate from Christ Church to the 1860 NC Diocesan Convention.
