Bishop Polk, Chattanooga, Tennessee, to Bishop Elliot, re; reporting his arrival in Chattanooga, his visit to Lookout Mountain, having left Bishop Otey in Beersheba Springs where he is preparing his address for the meeting on the 4th of July; giving his itinerary’ telling of the city’s plans to have carriages and other conveyances on hand to to take the Bishop’s {sic} and delegates and trustees to the top of the mountain for the meeting; the expectations of large numbers from the surrounding area to be present; reports on the N.C. Convention and their appointments of trustees, the sum of $25,000 promised by one of the appointees, Dr. Warren; Bishop Otey’s suggestion that Bishop Elliott appoint trustees and delegates without delay as they would exceedingly regret to have Georgia underrepresented. 4 pp. (1 mms. original, 1 typed copy , and 1 Photostat copy.)
