Dear Sir

I enclose bill for instruments sent by Adams Express according to your order. I have no sun dial made for your latitude we {insert symbo}have dials suited to all latitudes but these are portable instruments and not fit for constant exposure __ I suppose you intend a tolerable large size to place on a post for permanent exposure. I can make one for {insert symbol}your latitude of such size as you may think best _ of brass or marble or slate __ for large size (12 to 20 inches dia.) slate or marble {insert symbol}does well __ 9 to 12 inch in brass __

Also the wind vane should be made to suit - the building on which it is raised, if made large you can, perhaps, have it made on the spot __ __ __

If you give me some particulars on these points, I will attend to them as may appear best __

Yours Very respectfully
