Dear Mrs. Mignery,

Thank you for your letter of December 11th. You are generous to permit us to send our copies of your Curtis letters to the Southern Historical Collection. Mrs. Berkeley and I appreciate it, and Mrs. Wallace, at Chapel Hill, will also. She has told us that she would like very much to have any that the owners would permit her to have.

I am sorry that we can't send you a copy of the manuscript, as we have sent both the original and our only carbon copy to Mrs. Wallace. Mrs. Berkeley has put together from our notes some of the references to Sewanee in Curtis letters which we promised you in 1976 and unfortunately forgot to send. Unfortunately the copies of the letters have already gone back to Chapel Hill. I am sure that Mrs. Wallace would be glad to send you copies of any of them which interest you particularly. You are probably familiar with her, but just in case you are not, she is Mrs. Carolyn A. Wallace, Director, Southern Historical Collection, Wilson Library, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, N.C. 27514.

We were not familiar with your newspaper, and it was good of you to send a copy. We enjoyed it, as we always do the alumni news which we do get. At this time of year we always hope for additional news on Christmas cards. We usually exchange with Mac, Harry and Pete Ware. Pete's are always the high light of our card collection. If you have never seen one of his you have missed something!

Dorothy joins me in all best wishes for Christmas and the coming year to you and yours.

Cordially yours,

Edmund Berkeley
