Church.

The Church has nothing to do with civil distinctions. Policy may dictate a division of the synod, but I see no reason why the same synod may not embrace various governments. Does the secession of Louisiana separate the Masons from the Grand Lodge. The Church & Masonry alike / have nothing to do with political questions. Christ's Kingdom is not of this world, and the world's changes do not therefore affect its constitutions.

Our Consecration vow of Conformity is very plain and distinct. All must stand to it unless it involves a violation of some higher obligation. And even then we must observe it, except in that particular wherein it is sinful to keep it.
