I hope to hear you enjoyed your Easter leave. I'll say I remember a certain boat trip. Destiny is certainly both kind & cruel to us as regards boat trips. As Adam? once
said, "those were the days". I feel sure we'll look back someday & laugh at what's
worrying us now. I'm eager to find the home as you do - tall trees, a moon, & the lights reflected by a full tide - oh, & you.

Perhaps Jeff will take you fishing during the winter calms. Only don't let any big-ones get away.

Give my love to Mum, Dad & Stan - tell them I'm a bad writer but I have a better memory.

Most important of all is the love I offer you. As soon as I divorce this army life it will be a matter of 'actions speaking louder that words', patience proved a virtue, & the pen (friend) mightier than the sword. Finally, your a darling - you give me confidence in my taste,
Cheers,
Your adoring fiance'
Alan
