My Darling beloved,

Your letter cheered me greatly. Really it was pleasure so grand. The thought or anticipation of having a portrait that does you justice is thrilling. I can hardly await its coming, pet. Even now the lieutenants from our mess advertise your lovliness. I had forgotten that incident Herb mentioned. The rocks were a triffle slippery I guess. Sure I won't take any unecessary risks. A few days ago I slid down a 500 ft hill in three minutes. They are so steep all you do is leap on both feet & slide. The fear is in avoiding the rocks. The tradgedy you wrote of must have been a terrible experience for the poor chap. It's the sort of thing one has nightmares about. Herb seems to be making himself quite a pal. I was unaware he was a dancer. Darling, I seldom confided in Herb - I felt he understood
so little the way I felt lonliness. It was forgetfulness perhaps that led me to take for granted he knew of our engagement. Shirley shall be kicking herself for taking her holidays this month. Her worries are over - the lucky little devil show her you can take it smiling.

I shall like to peep in at Mr & Mrs Kennedy Jnr & share their anticipation. The name would be quite suitable.
