Martin Smith - E. [Earl] S [Saint] Vincent - 1818 - 14 Years ... on his arrival was assigned to Mr Brennan, Settler ... Appin, where he continued 6 months & was tried before the Court of Magistrates at Liverpool and received 50 Lashes --- has repeatedly been punished in a similar manner for Drunkenness -- Was tried at Parramatta General Sessions on 5 July 1830 - Before Mess'rs Lockyer & Blaxland J.P's [sic] - [crossed out] (and) received at this Establishment 6 July 1830, and forwarded to Moreton Bay per "Waterloo" - from whence he was again received (as an Evidence for the prosecution in a Case of "Attempt to murder") on 14 Feb'ry 1832 - His Conduct since that time had been Good. ---
