H. M. H. Phoenix,
19th Sep'r 1832.

Honoured Sir,

I really have great occasion to
apologise for intruding thus much, Sir, on
your attention - but I rest assured from your
well known sinpathy [sic], Sir, you will fully par-
ticipate in my feelings and allow the urgency
of my suit as some apology for the same.

Some short time since I took the
liberty of forwarding a Memorial to His
Excellency the Governor praying that my Desti-
nation which is at present ordered for Norfolk
Island may be altered for Moreton Bay or some
other Penal Settlement in furtherance of my
Sentence, on the ground that from the avowed
enmity of and openly declared threats of certain
Individuals at Norfolk Island, - that should op-
portunity occur they would take my life - I am
under the impulse of the most wretchedly agitated
feelings lest in the pressure of public business
my Suit in this behalf may be overlooked.

I need not, Sir, say that in the
event of my proceeding to Norfolk Island by
the Governor Phillips [sic]; I shall be the most
miserable from the state of dread I shall be in,
and as Sir, it is in Your power by your in-
fluence with the Governor to procure for me my
request, I indulge the confident hope that you
will be pleased to accede to my prayer, than
for which I shall never feel the Debt of Gratitude
paid. I am Sir with profound respect.

Your very hum. Serv't
