Sir
I have the honor
to acquaint you that the
Chief Constable of the Settlement
at Moreton Bay having been
sent by the Commandant
of that place on the 2n' Ins't
with a party of eight Special
Constables in search of seven
Runaways that had taken
a Southerly direction -
arrived here on the 22'd
without effecting his object
having walked upwards
of 300 miles. He and his
party necessarily required
