The humble Petition of Elizabeth

Bevan (now Phillips) per

Grenada 1824 - for Seven Years;

now under Colonial Conviction

at Moreton Bay -

Most respectfully sheweth,

That your Petitioner was tried at New-
castle Quarter Sessions 19 February 1828, for
obtaining goods under false pretences, and
sentenced to transportation for Seven Years -

That your Petitioner pleaded guilty
with the view of exonerating her husband
(now deceased) who was arraigned with her.

That your Petitioner has been on
this Settlement nearly four years, where
she has continued to behave herself to the
Satisfaction of her superiors and has not
during that long period been once punished
for misconduct, your Petitioner most humbly
prays your Excellency may be induced to
mitigate her sentence.
