It was determined to place a tool room
below the bluff which was deferred as it was
suspected that the lower portion of the bluff
would slide towards the bay. This, as has been
repeated before is the case and no safe place
for a tool room can be secured below the
Bluff. the most economical tool room that can
be obtained is by raising the present Rustic
Summer House 9 feet connect the House floor
proper with the upper bank by a sash and bridge
The tool room should be enclosed with 2 cedar plank
and eventualy rocked on the outside to correspond
with the rockery now surrounding the summer
House. By elevating the same its sightlyness
is much enhanced and will raiseit out of
the low position it occupies in relation to
the surrounding ground. This work can be
accomplished by our own men. and if done
should be done at once before the planting
is done.
The nursery work consisted beside the ground
care of Green House and Hot beds - seeding and
transplanting of the removal to Kinnear Park
of 700 tree shrub and vine plants - and the
ploughing harrowing of new ground for
planting out the replanting - some additional
help is needed for a while to finish the replanting.
