Seattle 6th [January?] 1892

Department of Public Parks

Report on progress of work for the month of December 1891.

"Kinnear Park."

In the lower portion of this park there has been constructed 1380 lineal feet of walk 10 feet wide, with a bridge of rustic work 88 feet long and 11 feet wide and a stairway of 19 steps also 10 feet wide; this bridge crosses the pond for acquatic plants which has also been graded and is ready to receive the element bottom. It has a superficial area of about 700 square ft and varies in depth from 6 inches to 3 feet. It will be drained by a siphon operating aut-omatically.

Along the face of the Bluffs there has been constructed 1240 lineal feet of walk 6 feet wide and of this, 1120 lineal feet is protected by piling, tailing, and straining walls of logs.

The Rustic house is completed and about half of the rustic work has got a coat of oil to preserve the bark.

In Denny Park.

We have not yet [commeneed?] grading any further than making roads passable for our own trans. 146 loads of manure hauled during the month.

City Park.

We have graded a road for the accomadation of trans. 189 feet long 12 to 15 wide graded and grubbed about 4500 square feet of the nursery which is now ready for plants, and built a range of cold frames as the house is already crowded with plants.

In connection with the nursery, it is now the season for getting in seeds and I would like to be allowed say $50.00 for the purchase of seeds.

I am yours respectfully James Taylor
