To the Honorable City Council

Gentlemen:

The petition of Peter Arena respectfully shows to your Honorable Body, that on the 17th day of January 1893, your petitioner together with his copartner Nick Giaconetti, obtained a Music License and paid into the City Treasurer on said 17th day of January 1893 the sum of one hundred dollars, and now holds certificate No. 121, under the signature of J.M. Carson, City Comptroller, and said music license does not expire until the 17th day of January 1894. Your petitioner further states that on the 22nd day of February 1893, your petitioner and his said copartner Nick Giaconetti sold their business to one Mary Gilbricks, and on said 22nd day of February 1893 ceased to employ

two pieces of music or any pieces of music, and ever since said 22nd day of February 1893, they have not used their rights under said license, nor do they intend to.

Your petitioner further states that on the 17th day of January 1893, your petitioner and his copartner were engaged in their Saloon business at 622 King Street in the City of Seattle, and when they sold out their Saloon business on the 22nd day of February 1893 they did not assign nor sell any of their rights under said music license No. 121 and they are now the sole owners and holders thereof.

Wherefore your petitioner prays that your Honorable Body will cancel said music license No. 121

and make a rebate for the unexpired time which said music license No. 121 had yet to run from 22nd February 1893 for the period of ten months and twenty five days.
