To the Honorable Mayor and
City Council of the City of
Seattle
Gentlemen,
Your Petitioner
would respectfully show to your Hon-
orable Body that he is one of the owners
of a corner Lot on the corner of Front and
Cedar Streets
, in Block 10 of Bell's Ad-
dition to the City of Seattle
, and is engaged
in excavating thereon for aa basement
Said excavation is now down about eight
feet and he has come upon a hard pan,
that can only be penetrated by blasting; he
desires to continue said excavation to a
further depth of five or six feet, He
thinks that said blasting can be done with
perfect safety, and he will employ a man
for said work skilled and experienced
in the same, and will use every known
and approved appliance for the pre-
vention of accidents, and do said blasting
aat such hours of the day as you Honor-
able Body may designate. He therefore asks
your Honorable Body for a permit to do
said balsting and your petitioner will
