Seattle June 28, 1889

To the Honorable the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Seattle Gentlemen

The petitioner herein asks your honorable body to refund to one the unexpired license money paid into the city treasury on the 5th day of May, having done business just one month before the fire, and up to the 6th of June bearing just 11 eleven months of license due me having been burnt out, and unable to rebuild. I have to remain out of business, and I ask you Hon Body to grant me the balance due me and your petitioner will ever pray.
