To the Honorable Common Council The Judiciary Committee to whom was referred that matter of securing the services of additional Counsel regarding the condemnation proceedings recently instituted by the City by to report as follows: Your Committee have approached the firm of Burke & Haller upon the subject who agree to undertake the cause of the city in there matters, in conjunction with the city attorney upon receiving a retainer of $1000.00 Therefore, the balance to be paid when a final issue is reached and the amount of such balance to be determined by the extent fo the services rendered: and to be left to arbitration if necessary Considering the magnitude of the interests involved and the character of the legal services to be rendered your committee would recommend that the services of the firm of Burke & Haller be engaged upon those terms.
