To the Board of Aldermen: City of Seattle, Wash.
Gentlemen:
The Judiciary Committee of the House of Delegates to whom was referred the petition of Mesrs. John James and F. M. Davis, for return or remittance of tax levied on lots (3) three and (4) four in Frances Addition agree to [?] with you on a report to the effect that the remaining corners on lots (3) three and (4) four be assessed on the basis of $50.00 valuation, this being the basis of settlement made by the county assessor. You meet on Thursday night and are not until the following Monday after the public sale on 18th inst being Saturday and in order to protect these Gentlemen, we urge your action on Thursday night in order that they may have the opportunity of protecting their preperty.

Gentlemen
your petitioners being owners of lots (3) three and (4) Four block (4) Four in Frances Additon to Seattle do respectfully ask that the tax levied on said lots be remitted as you may. Just for the following reasons, vis : That in the Lake Avenue condemation proceedings the city appropriated nearly the whole of the Two above named lots for street purposes.
