Seattle Aug 15, 1892 To you Honor Mayor Ronald Lot 6 Bk 68 Central Seattle was published last year in the delinquent tax list as belonging to Mrs Grace E Hussey of Vallejo California she sent me money to pay them on sending her the tax receipt she forward back to me this Lot 6 Bk 68 as not belonging to her and to let me to get the money back. So I left the receipt in the Treasurers Office while quite lately they told me to apply to the City Council and get my money back. Will you please write me when the Council meets and if I can get

Office of City Comptroller Seattle Wash Oct 31 1892 To the Honorable City Council of the City of Seattle Wash Gentlemen I hand you herewith a claim for the return of tax alleged to have been paid in error on lot 6 Block 68 Central Seattle Addition presented by Mrs E Hussey. The Auditing committee recommend that said claim be not paid upon the ground that Mrs Hussey by paying the tax and making no complaint at the time placed it being the power of the City to collect The amount from the proper parties.
