Members of the City council
of the City of Seattle
Gentlemen
We the undersigned
Officers and Trustees of the "Day Nursery"
of the City of Seattle respectfully rep-
resent to your honorable body; that
the "Day Nursery" is a charitable in-
stitution established and conducted
for the purpose of caring for the
children of poor women who are
obliged to go out to labor for their
support and for boarding and caring
for babies so young that they are
not admitted to the Orphans House
We have in connection with said
Day Nursery a woman's Intelligence
and employment office the entire
profits of which are devoted to the
support of said Day Nursery and
said profits constitute the greater
part of the support of the same
No park of said profits are or ever
will be the property of any individ-
ual or corporative but are used
