The cylinders are lagged and covered with
brass nickel plated and secured with
bands in a substantial and ornamental
manner. The iron in cylinders will be
close grained and the valves and pistons
different in misture to insure better running
and less wear.
The general arrangement of design is
like blue prints submitted. The throttle
will be attached with copper branch pipes
with hand wheels all ready for steam
pipe to connect upon; the exhaust pipes
will also be attached by branch pipes with
suitable flange for main pipe.
Maine-Two cast iron bends with six
hose gatges on each, connected by one 9"
and two 7" gates as plans show.
Non piping
Guages- One water guage attached to each
set of pumps and one 12" water guage
to be set in engine room when wanted.
These pumps will be carefully built
and tested here, (Chicago) and when they
are started they will be ready for business
and hard fire service. They are beyond
experiment and fully guarenteed.
