To the Mayor and Common Council
of the City of Seattle
Your petitioners "Washington Engine
Company No 2 would respectfully
represent to your honorable body
that they are desirous of giving
a picnic on Saturday the
23rd day of August 1884, in
order to raise funds to
pay certain indebtedness
incurred by the Company
We find that we cannot
dispose of sufficient
tickets to meet that
object
We would therefore
ask your honorable
body to appropriate
one hundred dollars for the
purpose of aiding
us.
