The Board of Fire Commissioners

In response to your request to furnish
the names of members of the department
of any who have not been residents of the
City for one year or more I can only report
that I have made careful [essaying?] of the Captains
and of the members of the several Companies
cannot learn of any who have
not the qualifications of residence.

In the matter of inventory of public
property belonging to the fire department
I have had considerable difficulty in
getting bills + valuations + would ask for
further time before submitting

I have partialy completed rules for the
government of the department which I
submit to you for approval or revision
as also a copy of rules of the Chicago + St Paul
departments for your guidance in the matter
