The Puget Sound National Bank of Seattle.

Seattle, May 22 1884

To the Hon. Council of the City of Seattle

Gentlemen

The undersigned respectfully asks your honorable body to strike from the assessment roll the amount of $7300.00 given by petitioner in his list as mortgages held by him. This was given in under the impression that all mortgages are taxed in this City but now finds that only few if any have been given to the assessor and this taxation would be unequal and therefore trusts his request will be granted.

Very respectfully

J. Furth
