Mr. President: Your Committee on Claims to whom was referred petition of Albert J. Forest for cancellation of assessment on his personal property on assessment rolls for 1892, to the extent of 300.00 claimed as exempt from taxation beg leave to report thereon favorably and reccomend referell to judiciary committee for ordinance.

31st March 1893 To the members of the House of Delegates Seattle Wash Gentlemen In my assessment on personal property for 1892, I was assessed the sum of $700 for my office furniture. I appeared before the Board of Equalization and asked them to allow me the usual rebate of $300 I being a married man They promised to attend

it and when I went to pay my city taxes today, the tax on the full $700 was demanded. As the county commissioners allowed the rebate of $300 when I applied to them I now ask your honorable body to permit the city treasurer to make the same reduction your respectfully Albert J. Forest

I would state that I have no other personal property in Seattle. My residence being in the county.
