Seattle July 16th 1889

Robt Moran Mayor Sir in reference to the Engine House No 4 will build on lot now occupied by No 4 Company a brick house 24x60 ft fitted with stalls harness room too. Sleeping apartments large room water closet etc for a monthly rental of one hundred dollars or will build a frame house same size on Battery St next to alley between 4th and 5th Streets for a monthly rental of fifty dollars.

Seattle July 26 1889 To the honorable mayor and Common council Gentlemen Your committee to whom was referred the communication of G.W. Hall beg to Report that they would recommend that the offer to construct a "frame engine house on Battery St near the alley between 4th and 5th and to rent the house to the City of Seattle for the sum of $50.00 per month" be accepted.
