To the Hon the Mayor and Common Council of Seattle Gentlemen Your committee on Fire and Water beg to represent that thet is a pressing demand for Fire Hydrants to be placed in various portions of the City, and that the Fire Department had no hadrants on hand to meet such demands. Your Committee therefore, recommend that drawings and specification for a Fire Hydrant be prepared & that bids for 20 hydrants be called for a soon as possible. Your comittee would further recommend that a slip be constructed at the foot of Moetke Street on Lake Union for the accomodation of a Fire Engine incase of Fire and that all persons be warned from placing slabs or other obstructions at the foot of said Street.
