July 7th To your Honor the Mayor & Common Council
of the City of Seattle

As Mr A. E. Boyd
wished me to make a statement regarding
the bull claimed by Mr Fagan as belonging to
him, would say that I was keeper of all
Impounded Stock taken up by Officer A. E. Boyd
in September last, & on the 5th day of September
1889 there was brought into the Corral used for
holding Impounded Stock, once small brindle
& white bull about three years old, he was advertised
& sold on the 11th of September, and at the day of the
sale there was no one who would bid on the bull
& at that request of the Chief of Police J. C. Mitchell
Officer A. E. Boyd took the bull at $10 as the
Chief said that the animal would only be an
expense on the City if he was not sold. I did
not see any brand on him whatever during the
7 days I fed him.
