A petition, signed by 20 citizens, was submitted requesting that the fee for an auctioneer's license be reduced from $400 to $200. They also requested that a distinction be made in licensing between citizens and non-citizens. The Board of Aldermen forwarded the petition to the Corporation Counsel with the recommendation that he write an ordinance reducing the fee to $300. See full description in Digital Collections
