Hon Board of Public Works
of the City of Seattle
Gentlemen
We, your petitioners resident free-
holders of the City of Seattle would most
respectfully ask that your honorable
body order the replanking of South
Eighth Street
from Weller Street to
Dearborn Street and that same be
done as once, and Submit the follonwing
facts to show the necessity for said work.
South Eighth Street is the principal throughfare
for hauling as for all producers coming into
the City from its Southern Boundry, in its
present condition said street is utterly
impassible, compelling property owners
to come into the City by way of the
Seattle Transfer Company's driveway,
That said Transfer Co, exacts and collects
tolls for the use of said driveway, thereby
placing a burden upon people unable to
afford it, and which can be obviated by
the planking of the town Clerks above
mentioned ie: from Weller to Dearborn
Streets.
